‘Make Your Mark’ Challenge

On Monday 17th November, 18 Calderdale College F.E. and H.E. Expressive Arts students volunteered to take part in the national ‘Make Your Mark Challenge’.

The topic was disclosed at 9:00am which challenged the students to come up with an enterprising idea incorporating the 2012 Olympic ideals of friendship, excellence, courage, inspiration, determination, respect and equality. Splitting into three groups, they deliberated, expanded and refined their ideas throughout the day and finally came up with three very individual innovative schemes to take to the next stage of our challenge – going head to head with three teams of Business students in The Dragon’s Den.

The prize of £100.00 for the group to set up a Young Enterprise company went to the Business Studies Tea, for their plan to sell wrist bands to support the Olympic games. The other entries were entered into the national Make Your Mark Challenge.
