SSAT have engaged in a strategic partnership with Skilled Up based on feedback from the network for accredited enterprise delivery. NCFE are the awarding body for Skilled Up’s resources and have agreed to a briefing. You are invited to the NCFE briefing at 11.45 – 1.30 (including lunch) to find out more about NCFE’s qualifications and how Skilled Up’s ready made solution may fit your needs.

Sharing the best practice of embedding enterprise education within Initial Teacher Training in Yorkshire and Humber

YPEF Services Ltd would like to invite you to attend a dissemination workshop of embedding enterprise in Initial Teacher Training project within Yorkshire and Humber.

Speakers/workshops include:
Professor Andy Penaluna – Enterprise Educators UK & HEA, Professor of Creative Entrepreneurship at Swansea University. Andy will share with us his experience of accrediting enterprise education within Initial Teacher Training at Swansea University.

Catherine Brentnall and Jackie Frost from Rotherham Ready (winners of the most enterprising place in Britain 2010) will share their experience of working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and Hull University to embedding enterprise teaching and learning within Initial Teacher Training.

McMillan School of Education (Bradford College) and Leeds Trinity University College will share the best practice developed by introducing enterprise teaching and learning within their teacher training provision in both primary and secondary provision.

Plus other workshops and guest speaker to be announced.

The Create Yourself-Create Change Workshop for Educators is a fun and informative taster to the world of social enterprise. The 5 hour session will be delivered by a young social entrepreneur and has been designed to give educators and youth workers:

  • The confidence to introduce social enterprise and to bring social enterprise to life for other team members and your students – by providing you with key facts, opportunities, case studies examples of social entrepreneurs, social enterprise businesses.
  • The understanding and awareness of important factors that this ‘new way of doing business’ will directly affect you within the education system, and the changes the growth of social enterprise activity is having within government agenda’s, our society and the economy
  • New ideas and methods to engage your young people in positive enterprise activity, which can be used towards assessment criteria and additional subjects such as national diplomas, citizenship, widening participation, careers development and enterprise.

  • Positive inspiration and stimulus to use to enhance your teaching skills, and get the best out of your students by offering them of making a profit whilst making a difference: which other educators who have been on the workshop say has increased student aspirations to be successful.
